sustainability
Our goal is to manufacture and deliver products under socially and environmentally sustainable conditions.
corporate responsibility
& strong partnerships
Over the past decades we have built up an extensive network of reliable international production facilities and are a global player in the field of textile sourcing. We not only bear responsibility for ourselves, but also for society and the environment, especially along our value chain. In order to make possible negative effects visible, a transparent and traceable supply chain is an essential aspect for us. We currently have full visibility into our direct suppliers and subcontractors and we are partially aware of the raw material suppliers. We want to expand this in the near future in order to achieve comprehensive supply chain transparency.
To ensure that continuous improvement in production conditions is achieved and workers are treated with dignity and respect, we rely on personal and solid partnerships. That's why we visit production sites on a regular basis to conduct comprehensive assessments and ensure standards are being met.
social standards & commitment on site
Suprema is a member of BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) and Bangladesh Accord.
All production facilities are reworked BSCI standard and are subject to ongoing controls. The code of conduct to improve social standards offers a systematic monitoring and qualification system and is based on international treaties to protect workers' rights. Key elements are: management practices, safe employment, hours of work, compensation, child labor, forced labor, freedom of association, discrimination, working conditions, health and social services, health and safety at work, environmental aspects and special protection for young employees.
The checking workers include not only company employees, but also those of subcontractors (cleaning service, security service, on-site catering services, temporary workers).
· Zero Tolerance = child labour, bribery of auditors, forced labour, etc.
We are also founding members of Bangladesh Accord - the Convention on Fire Safety and Building Safety in Bangladesh. The Building Safety Agreement is a milestone for the industry because it was the first to create a legally binding agreement to protect the health and safety of employees.
more responsible materials
We strive to manufacture our products responsibly. It is therefore our goal to continuously increase the use of sustainably produced materials compared to conventional ones. For example, we rely almost exclusively on cotton and viscose that are produced in a socially and environmentally responsible manner and are certified according to international standards Sustainability standards such as Ökotex, GOTS, OCS and RWS certified.
We also believe that the circular economy has a crucial role to play in transforming the sector. Based on this, we are open to any development and strive in addition to our existing one in the near future GRS certification one cradle-2-cradle certification.
